Vacation 2011 Day 2: Sharpsburg, GA

Friday morning we woke up early to go to Mimi's house, we were going to Breanna's High School graduation that night.  The drive took about 2 1/2 hours and we got there right around lunch time.  I have to say that this trip has been the longest that Brooklyn has been on with us and she has done great in the car.  She really didn't watch that many movies, she did have a few meltdowns but for the most part she did great.  Now I just hope the ride home goes just as well too!

When we got to Mimi's we had pizza for lunch and hung out with the family for a while.  Then Jason, B, and I headed to the hotel so the B could get a nap.  The graduation didn't start until 7:30, so I knew we HAD to get a nap!

I knew the Graduation was going to be a challenge because trying to get 2 toddlers to sit and be quite for longer that 30 seconds was impossible.  Thankfully it was outside and we were sitting by an exit so we could make a quick exit if the girls got rowdy.  For the most part they did alright.  The daddies would take turns "herding" the girls.  Well, we made it until they called Brea's name and then Jon and I took the girls to the car.  They were done and so were the parents ; )

After she got her diploma....She looked so pretty, we are sooo proud of you Aunt Be-Be.

Vacation 2011 Day 1: Birmingham, AL

So Wednesday night Jason and I packed up the car for the trip.  I must say that I am quite impressed with the space that my Journey has.  This is the first "big" road trip that we have made since I have had it and it fits a lot of stuff.

Thursday morning we left bright and early for Little Rock.  We were there by 10:30 and we stopped by Candace and Jon's house to let the girls play for a bit and then we stopped and got some lunch.  By 12:30 we were back on the road.  We made another stop in Olive Branch, MS at a McD's to let the girl's play for a while. Then, we were on to Birmingham.  We made it to Birmingham around 8ish.  We thought Birmingham was a good stopping point for us because we were all exhausted and hungry and it is only 2 1/2 hours away from Mimi's house!  When we got to the hotel and let the girls out they were HYPER!!! It was hilarious!!!  I cannot wait until these 2 little girls get to the beach!

A Sick Little B

Yesterday when I was on my way to pick up Brooklyn, Colemans called to tell me that she was running a 101 temp.  It was 4:15 and Brooklyn's doctor's office closes at 4:30 and it was Friday.  So I ended up going to an urgent care clinic over by Harbor Meadows.  We were the only people there so we got right in = ) Well, she has an ear infection and an upper respiratory infection.  She has had a very runny nose and a cough for over a week now, and I was afraid that this was coming.  But I am sooooo thankful that it happened when it did and not when we are in Florida!!  So, we now  have some "pink medicine" and a full weekend to rest.

However, the weather today is absolutely gorgeous and I have to keep her in, it is not easy! Well, I had to go to Hobby Lobby and while I was there I picked her up some little things to paint to keep her occupied.  Hopefully with a full weekend of rest and LOTS of Scooby Doo, she will be much better by Monday.

More Adventures of Colby & Brooklyn

Just another Saturday Night with Colby.  I didn't have my camera, just my phone so these pics
aren't the greatest.

They did get to go outside for a little while and jump on the trampoline.

199 Days to Go!

I just wanted to take a moment and brag about my husband.  As of today, he has 199 days left until he is done with school (his last day is Nov. 28th).  When he first started he had over 700 days.  We know this because he downloaded an app for his phone that counts down the days and he literally tells me almost everyday how many days he has left.  Not only is it an accomplishment that he is going back to finish his degree, but the fact that he is doing this while working full time, being a husband and most importantly being a daddy, oh yea and trying to fit golf in all of that too.  I am so incredibly proud of him!!!

Class Picture

Brooklyn's class picture from February.  I completely forgot to post it.  Some of these kiddos she has been with since she was a baby. Miss. Melissa is her teacher.....love her!  She is so good with this age group.

Mother's Day

So Blessed to have this precious little girl in my life.

Her sweet mother's day gift for me.  She was so proud of this too.

For my very first Mother's Day, Jason's mom brought me these pretty roses. I am so proud that 3 years later they are still looking great!

Shoe Theif!

So, this is what happens when Brooklyn disappears in the house and she is REALLY quite for an extended period of time.  She is destroying (and I mean DESTROYING) my closet trying on my shoes!  She came walking out of the closet with both of these boots on, but by the time I got my camera, she was taking them off.  It was hilarious watching her try to walk in those things.

Mindy's Baby Shower

Saturday April 30th, my mom and I had a baby shower (for mostly family) for Mindy.

Pretty mom-to-be at 32 weeks

Some of the onesies that my mom had done from Monogram-It.

My cousin Casey brought Nataleigh with her, so I brought Brooklyn.  They did really great for the most part.

My dad was SUPER excited to have his picture taken...

Some of Jeremy's family

Shower cake from Harp's

Diaper Cake my mom made.
Mindy's friend Kelsey helped out too.

Brooklyn also helped Mindy with opening the gifts.  She thought that the gifts were for her so she would help open them and then show them off.  She was quite the entertainer.
Mindy with her grandmothers Shirley & Betty.

Some of our Aunts and Cousins.

And finally, my little princess taking in as much punch and cake as she could before we left.

Easter 2011

Easter Sunday started off with Brooklyn eating too much chocolate from her Easter Basket.  Then we went to church.  After church, we headed home to get lunch ready.  My parents and my sister and Jeremy came over for lunch too.  We knew that we were not going to be able to do an Easter egg hunt outside because of the lovely rain (12" in 2 days).  But that didn't seem to bother Brooklyn.  She didn't want to find the eggs anyway, she wanted to hide them and let all of the adults find them.  She basically hid every egg behind a pillow on the couch.

Chocolate Smile
She wanted everyone to have an egg by their plate.

Despite the weather, our Easter was great.  I am so blessed to have the amazing family that I have!
