Summer Nights

Now that the weather is tolerable, we spend a lot of time outside in the evenings. She loves to ride her tricycle or "sicle" as she calls it.

Then it was time for daddy to take her for a ride in her wagon.

And then she insisted that she was going to take daddy for a ride in the wagon. Brooklyn is a VERY bossy little girl, especially with her daddy. It is really cute. So, as you can see in the picture above, Brooklyn has her daddy wrapped around her finger ; )

Little Diva

Monday afternoon Brooklyn was very quietly playing (never a good thing) in her room so I went to check on her. First of all, it looked like her room exploded and in the middle of the disaster I found this cute little girl putting on every bracelet and necklace that she has.

Well, after all of that hard work of dressing up it was time to feed her baby. Being the good little mommy that she is she fed her baby a very healthy meal...including french fries and donuts.

So, I thought I would update everyone on Brooklyn's potty training. It has been a month now since she started and she is still doing great. I still put her in pull-ups at night and at school, even though she stays dry I know that accidents can and will happen. Usually in the evening and on weekends I will let her wear her"big girl panties". When she started potty training she still was not ready to use the potty to go poop. So, when she needed to go she would come to me and say "momma I need a diaper, I need to poo-poo". I would always ask if she wanted to use the big potty and she would tell me NO. So, I would put a diaper on her and she would go to her kitchen in her bedroom and "cook" while she was doing her business. That was her ritual ; ) So, about a week and a half ago she came to me to tell me that she needed to poop and she wanted to use the potty. I was so excited! So I put her on the potty, gave her some reading material of course ; ) and she told me to shut the door, a little hesitant but I did. I did get a play by play of what was going on....she was quite proud and so was her momma. So, anyway she has still been doing great. The only thing I have to watch her with the the toilet paper. She will use half of the roll, literally!

Big Girl Bed

A few months ago I converted Brooklyn's crib to a toddler bed. She has done great and is such a great sleeper which kind of makes me worry about how well the next child will sleep (not anytime soon though). The toddler bed was just too small and so I decided to get her a bigger bed. I found one on Craigslist ( that website is sooo addictive!) for a great price and got it.

She loves her new bed! I decided to paint it a light pink for now.

This was what color the bed was when I got it. The color wasn't that bad but there were 3 butterflies on the headboard that were hideous and had to go. I thought about replacing them with some really cute decorative knobs, but I don't think that would have been very smart with a 2 year old.

Playdate

Last Saturday I took Brooklyn over to my good friend Karlie's house to play with her 2 girls Kameron and Karson. Kameron is driving the jeep, she is 5 and started kindergarten last week and Karson is 3.

Karson's turn to drive. They wanted Brooklyn to drive, but I was afraid of the outcome of that so maybe another time = ) She had a great time. It is still so crazy to think how Karlie and I grew up together and now our little girls are playing together. Time goes by so fast!

A Busy Girl

Watering my flowers and plants is always a chore because Brooklyn always "accidentally" gets completely wet....yea right. She will stand right in front of the hose and just laugh. Somehow she always gets a hold of the water hose too. At least she is helping me water.

She was trying to get mommy wet and chasing mommy with the water hose. I really wouldn't have cared to get wet accept that I had my camera.

Then it was time to wash her car.

Next, time to wash daddy's truck.

Finally, time for some fun. She is so excited that she can ride her tricycle. It took her a while to get the hang of it, but now that is all she wants to do when we go outside.

A few weeks ago (yes, I am really behind on her blog) we went to The Little Gym to celebrate Austins's 3rd Birthday. Brooklyn LOVED this place...I think I may have a little gymnast.

Tulsa

This year we took our vacation the last week of July. We decided to stay close to home and just go to Tulsa. With Jason in school ALL summer it is just not feasible for him to take long trips right now. I really didn't care where we went, I was just ready to get away! We left on a Tuesday morning and drove straight to the hotel so a certain little one could take a nap. We all took a nap it was great! Then we headed to the aquarium. The Oklahoma Aquarium is all indoors, so going in the middle of the afternoon was no problem.




So, we are getting ready to head to the aquarium and it is time to put on her shoes. I want her to wear hear cute white sandals and she wants to wear her momo (elmo) sandals. And she threw one of her ginormous "lye in the floor and scream" fits. After some major "sweet talking" she ended up wearing the white sandals = )

After the aquarium, we headed to The Cheesecake Factory (my favorite).

The next morning we headed to the zoo early so that we could get there when it opened. Since it was so HOT we wanted to get there before it was too unbearable and we were the FIRST people in.

First stop...the chimpanzees. The monkeys were entertaining their audience.

There were 2 main items on Brooklyn's zoo agenda: 1) seeing the tigers and 2) riding the choo-choo train. Well, first we made it to the choo-choo. And this allowed us to see a lot of the animals with out having to walk the entire zoo. By this time it was getting REALLY hot.

And after the choo-choo we headed to the tigers, but with it being so hot a lot of the animals were sleeping so she only got to see one tiger and he was sleeping = ( Oh well she had a blast anyway. After the tigers, we were ready to head back to the hotel and take a nap.

We got up and left Thursday morning. Well, Tuesday night after we left Cheesecake Factory, we stopped by Krispy Kreme to get Brooklyn some donuts. Everychance she got, she would help herself to a donut. This was her Thursday morning helping herself to a donut (with her momo sandals on of course).
