Happy Easter & Happy Birthday Papa!

We started our Sunday by going to church, and Easter dress pictures of course!

This year we had 2 very special occasions to celebrate on Sunday April 8th.  In honor of both, we had lunch at our house and grilled fillets for my dad.

My parents, my sister and her family, and Jason's grandparents joined us for lunch.  And nonnie brought easter goodies for the kiddos.  Then we had lunch. When it was time to pray before lunch, Brooklyn volunteered to pray.  (At her school, they pray before each meal.  It is actually a song that they sing which makes it even more precious.)  Such a proud moment for a momma = )

I wanted to take advantage of having all of us together and get some pics.  I had to get a picture of this little man who is going to turn 1 in 2 months (I cannot believe it!)

It has been a long time since we have had a family picture.

 Very proud grandparents!

After lunch, it was time for the Easter Egg hunt.  Since Peanut (a.k.a. Jaxen) is not quite big enough to hunt easter eggs, Mindy put him down for a nap.  So B had to do the hunt solo.

I have to comment on Brooklyn's outfit.  She instisted on keeping her easter dress on after church...and pantyhose.  So I let her, but I didn't want her in the back yard with her dress shoes on so she chose her rain boots....

No worries though, she had 2 helpers....

Otis especially liked helping her, he really wanted an easter egg.

Her loot!

We had a great Easter!  I am so thankful to have all of these amazing people in my life!

4 Year Pics

A few weeks ago I took Brooklyn to the park in Harbor Meadows to get some "4 Year" pictures of her. Back in October, I bought a Nikon dslr. I absolutely LOVE my camera! If you are thinking about getting one, I would definitely recommend it. Now that I have this camera, it is hard to pay for professional pictures of Brooklyn. However, when I am on the other side of the camera (like family pictures) that is another story. We haven't had professional family pictures since Brooklyn turned one. I am planning on getting family pictures taken in the next few months and I am shopping for photographers. I have found one that I think I want to use, I have seen her pictures on FB and she is amazing! If you have any recommendations please let me know!

A Weekend in KC

A few weekends ago we spent the weekend in KC.  As soon as we found out that there was an American Girl store there we had to go!  We also wanted to go to the zoo.  Jason and I have always loved KC and were ready to go again.  Friday after Jason got off work we headed to KC.  We actually stayed in Overland Park, KS which right next to KC.  Overland Park is where the American Girl store was and lots of restaurants and shopping.  When we got to the hotel (around 8:30) we had promised B that we would go swimming.  She was one happy little girl!

Saturday morning we headed to the Zoo.  We got there right when it opened and the weather was perfect!  I have to say that we were very impressed by how clean and beautiful this zoo was.  This is definitely our favorite zoo so far.  As you can see from the map below, this zoo is huge!  Brooklyn was a trooper too!  She wanted to no part of riding in a stroller and she walked through the entire zoo with us!

The polar bear was the first animal we saw and he was quite entertaining to watch!

We were walking over this bridge to go to "Africa" just as a train was going under us.

This part of the zoo had a lift that took you across some of the animals and of course we had to ride it!

Enjoying some ice cream before we left.  I am sooo glad we got the the zoo when we did, because there were sooooo many people going into the zoo when we left.

And finally a picture of my girl in front of her store!  We had such a wonderful time and definitely plan on going back very soon.  I just found out that Lego Land is opening in May!!!
