Christmas with the Couch's

Every year since I can remember my dad's family gets together around Christmas. This year we got together on Christmas Eve for lunch at my aunt and uncle's house. Unfortunately Jason couldn't make it because the stupid bank was open. So me and my sweet little girl went, but before we left I had to snap some pictures of her.

My aunt's pretty tree.

My cousins Courtney and Haylee with Brooklyn

So, they have an indoor cat and an outdoor cat and my little animal lover couldn't keep her hands off of either one of them. My uncle Floyd brought the outdoor cat in for her to pet.

Brooklyn's Christmas Party

Yesterday (Dec 17th) was Brooklyn's Christmas party at school. The kids had just woken up from their naps, but when I got there my little one was still sleeping. It usually takes her a little bit to wake up after her nap so she was a bit cranky at the beginning of the party.

This is Mia (or mimi as Brooklyn calls her). She is one of Brooklyn's (or Brookwin as all of her buddies call her) best buddies at school.

My mom was asking the kids about Santa.

My little cupcake.

Then she was asking them about Rudolph, they were so into the conversation too.

Porter, another one of Brooklyn's buddies.

So sweet!

Christmas Cookies

Last Saturday, I let Brooklyn help me make sugar cookies and decorate them. She had a lot of fun and she did really well too. I plan on making this a Christmas tradition for the 2 of us.

Artwork

Just some of my sweet little girl's artwork from school.

Ready for the Beach

All of the sudden Brooklyn has an infatuation with going to the beach. Some days that is all she talks about. She says that she wants to see dolphins, snakes? (I really hope not) and fishes. So, the other night she went into her bathroom and found her sunblock under the counter and carried it around all night. Poor kid, we are planning on going but not until May....

This is how daddy lets me go outside......

At least she has a coat and shoes on. Last Saturday morning Brooklyn was already dressing up for the day. She still had her pj's on with a black tutu, a hula skirt on top of that, and to top it off she has on some of mommy's lipstick. She was helping daddy feed the dogs, but first she thought she would play a round golf.

Dress Up

Just some pics of my sweet little girl playing dress up. One of her FAVORITE things to do.

Tis the Season

The Friday after Thanksgiving we started decorating the house. I didn't do any of the crazy Black Friday shopping, I slept in and then went shopping. It is just not worth it to me to wake up that early and fight with a bunch of crazy women to save a couple of bucks, but that is just me.
This year we let Brooklyn help put up the decorations. Christmas is going to be so much fun, I can't wait to see the look on her precious face Christmas morning.

My goal this year was to have all of my Christmas shopping done by Thanksgiving, and I did. So I had most of the presents wrapped before we put the tree up. I knew I was taking a chance putting them under the tree because a certain little girl would not leave them alone. She started ripping the bow off of one (she thought it was time to open) and I had to TRY to explain to her that we have to wait unil Christmas day.

Under the tree examining the presents.....

Thanksgiving 2010

The past 3 years we have had Thanksgiving at our house with Jason's family.

The night before, we had a house full of kiddos.

Look at those 2 little angels.....

Taste Tester

One of the guys that I work with bakes cakes as a hobby (Your Cake Guy-he is on FB). He does great work! Whenever he has leftover cake batter he will make cupcakes and bring them to me and Lesya at work to take to Brooklyn and Lesya's little boy Austin. He is always trying out new ideas too. The picture above is a doll cake that he made for Brooklyn to try. It is a tough job but somebody has got to do it. ; )

She was so proud of her "princess" cake.

I tried to cut it for her to eat but she had another idea.
