Shark Teeth

I forgot to add this pictures to my previous vacation posts.  One of the first mornings that we were there, we were out on the beach and we saw a lady running.  She stopped and showed us a shark tooth that she had found.  She told us that these were very popular and you could find them washed up along the beach.  I thought that this would be impossible, until I found one.  Then we were all addicted to finding them.  Brooklyn even found a few.  They are fossilized shark teeth, very cool!

Last year when we went to Florida, Candace and I bought the girls a sand dollar charm.  This was something that I wanted to start doing, buy a charm for B while on our vacations.  Well this year we didn't find any.  But when we got home, I had an idea to use the shark teeth in a charm.  .  I used crushed seashells (I also got these from our FL trip) shark teeth and resin to make these. Resin is awesome for making jewelry!

An Afternoon with Lily

 Last weekend we spend the afternoon with Ms.Lily.  Jason hadn't seen DKP(Dustin) or Dalton (Morgan) in a while, so he needed a playdate too ; ) Brooklyn had a great time with Lily.

Second Year of Dance

I cannot believe she is starting her second year of dance!  She was sooo excited to start back, the first night of class she asked me when we were going back to the stage....I told her we have a while before her recital.  Last year she was one of the youngest in her class and this year she is one of the oldest in her class.  We are very excite to have Mrs.Sarah as her teacher again!!

Another Update on Me

In May I posted an update to what my doctor had found out with my blood work due to the miscarriages that I previously had.  I don't like to post "personal" stuff on the blog, but I have decided to write about this for 2 reasons 1) please continue to pray for me and 2) I have found it helpful/encouraging to read others' stories that have gone through similar issues.  I read the article in Celebrate magazine about Joe Nichols' wife and how she has similar blood disorders that I have.
A few weeks ago I went to see my doctor, I had LOTS of questions and some concerns.  When I saw him he answered questions and told me that in my previous blood work that my antinuclear antibody was elevated???  Higher levels of this could possibly mean that I have an autoimmune disease (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, to name a few).  He was not worried, he said that the same thing happened to his wife.  He told me that he wanted me to go see a hematologist, and don't get on the Internet to look this up!  He said that is what his wife did and she got really upset, so I didn't. He also told me that when I due get pregnant that I will start daily heparin shots (in the stomach) on top of the baby aspirin and perscription prenatal that I am currently taking.  He also wants to start me on Clomid shortly due some issues too.
Two weeks later I had an appointment at Highlands Oncology in Fayetteville to see a specialist.  I asked all my questions and he agreed with what my OB doctor was doing.  He wants to put me on Lovenox AS SOON as I get pregnant and towards the end of my pregnancy I will switch to heparin.  Lovenox I only have to inject once a day, heparin is twice a day. = (  He also told me that at this point he was not worried about me having an autoimmune disease, I will just need to have this checked regularly = )  Before I left they wanted a nurse to show me how to inject myself.  I was not ready for this!!! But they sent me upstairs to see the nurse.  When I got upstairs I noticed that they were sending me to the chemotherapy suite. I sat out there for about 20 minutes watching people of ALL ages go through that door.  I realized that I can't be nervous about injecting myself with a stupid needle.  God really put some things into perspective for me as I sat out there.  Finally a nurse called me in.  She was super nice and sooo helpful.  She brought out 3 syringes filled with saline solution.  The first one we practiced on some cushion thing and then she asked me if I wanted to try on myself.  So I took the needle, pinched an area on my stomach and did it!  I was surprised that it didn't even hurt!  I don't know if it was because I have plenty of "cushion" in that area or the needle was really small, but whatever I can totally handle that.  I did ask the question of what happens when I am 9 months pregnant and can't really "pinch" my stomach?  She wasn't too sure about that, since she doesn't deal with preggos.  She told me to ask one of the nurses at my OB doctor.  So, the third needle I brought home to practice one more time.

Vacation 2012 Day: Last Day

Friday morning we woke up and cleaned up the house and waited till about noon to leave.  Candace and Jon left that morning to go home. Right before we left, we were taking one last look at the ocean and we were lucky enough to see dolphins!  I was glad that the kids got to see them.  By the time I went and got my camera they were gone.  So, off we went to the airport.  As soon as we walked in the airport we noticed that our flight was already delayed an hour and a half...Thankfully the airport had a kids area with seating and a large flat screen TV that continuosly played kids movies = ) So we got to watch the chipmonks movie and it was time to board the plane = ) Thankfully the flight went well and we were home by 8:30.  It was such a wonderful trip, but we were so glad to be home! 

Vacation 2012 Day 7: Sawgrass & Celebrating 9 Years of Marriage

Thursday was our last full day at the beach.  The boys played golf at TPC Sawgrass (was like Christmas for them!) and the mommies took the kiddos to the beach.

Thursday night was a beautiful full moon!  Jason and I were soooo incredibly blessed to spend our 9th anniversary on the beach.

Vacation 2012 Day 5: St.Augustine

Tuesday morning we woke up to a beautiful sunny day.  We had planned on going to St.Augustine,but wanted to let the kiddos have some beach time first.

After lunch, we headed to the St.Augustine Light house.  I was excited because I had never been to a light house.

Since the kiddos were not tall enough(thankfully) just the mommies went up and the daddies stayed with the kiddos and thankfully there was a playground.  We had no problems hearing our children at this height either!

After the lighthouse, we went to the downtown area and walked around.  St.Augustine is the oldest city in the US and there is so much history and amazing architectural buildings here!

They had a ton of unique shops throughout, I could have spent hours here!  The time that I did have, managed to pick up some cool beaded bracelets though.

After St.Augustine, we went to a restaurant called "Caps on the Water".  This place was amazing!  Most of the restaurant was outside under huge trees and spanish moss hanging from them, it was amazing!  There food was also great, we even came back to eat here on Wednesday night.

It had started raining while we were there.
